BRAVO MARCHISIO!!

KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED FOR THE BIANCONERI ON TUESDAY, AND OH, LET'S HOPE THERE WON'T BE SUCH MADNESS. SAVE BUFFON'S NERVES, AND THE NERVES OF ALL OF THEM, PLEASE.

SOME MORE HAPPY NEWS CAME TO ME FROM ENGLAND: ARSHAVIN SCORED THE 100TH GOAL IN HIS CAREER. PLUS AN ASSIST THAT LEAD TO THE OTHER GOAL IN THAT GAME. I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT, BUT AS FAR AS I HEARD, SHAVA WAS EXTREMELY GOOD YESTERDAY.

AND MESSI SCORED TWICE IN LA CORUÑA.

AFTER WEEKS OF BAD AND ONLY BAD FOOTBALL EMOTIONS, THAT'S A GOOD CHANGE.

I do not have a habit of writing about the birthdays of the kids of footballers from teams that i don´t support, never root for, and don´t even like at all, but Raul Gonzales Blanco and his princesa deserve an exception!
After all, Raul is one of the very few Real Madrid players i have always respected highly. And i was quite anticipating the birth of his first daughter (i have always thought that Mamen is a heroine, having given birth to 4 chiquitos

fOLLOWING THE EXAMPLE OF MOST OF MY FRIENDS HERE, I'M POSTING ALL THIS:

I believe that the ones who have read my entries for quite a long time might have noticed that i often predict the results of football games and even though i have no particular feelings that something is bound to happen, here is my version of the teams that get into the play-off stage:

GROUP A
Mexico and Uruguay, hopefully. Though I haven't seen the South Africans, maybe the idea of being at home will help them (though i do not hope so).
France has no chance for me and my taste here.

GROUP B
FUERZA ARGENTINA. You are lead by the best footballer in the world. I mean Diego Armando.
If Northern Korea gets out of the group, i want Suthern Korea to do that too. If the northerners don't, i am for Greece. basically, i don't really care and i don't think Argentina will encounter much trouble here.

GROUP C
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn

GROUP D
Serbia is my immediate choice, and objectively - Germany.

GROUP E
Not too obvious, but i say The Netherlands and Cameroon.

GROUP F
ITALIA.
FORZA AZZURRI AND THAT'S ALL I KNOW AND THINK.
the second team will probably be Paraguay, though i only think of Italy.

GROUP G
WOW.
Brazil and Portugal is interesting.
and - may i dream a little?
i can't stand the way Brazil is playing now and i want them not to get to the knock-out stage. not very realistic, i know, but hell))) miracles do happen))

GROUP H
definitely Spain. Chile is my second choice.

If anyone is surprised, please raise your hands - i'll point my finger at you and start rolling on the floor laughing my pants off.
What i found more surprising is that a news item about it was posted on Juve's official site. As though we were signing Messi! lmao.
I could have made a million dollar bet back in the summer that Messi will get the ball if i could find an idiot who would agree to bet.

Felicidades, Leo.

I wildly love Eastern European cinematography.
maybe that's in my mentality of a Russian, that get a kick of the movies of Slavic directors, i'm high with their humor and i am compassionate with the heroes' problems.

"The Firemen's Ball" is a brilliant, witty, flamboyant comedy with strong and dramatic elements of social issues. The humor was pretty black at times, but it didn't prevent me from laughing my pants off anyway.
The story with the beauty contest was the best one, with the girls running away, being dragged back on stage, and still escaping, oh my, i was almost crying from laughter.
Some heroes made me grin, some heroes laft me moved, but the whole story was told so hilariously that the seriousness of certain actions only opened to me later.

And i'm already loving Czech movies (though, strictly speaking, The Firemen's Ball was Czechoslovakian of course, it was shot in 1967, or actually is was joint Czechoslovakian+Italian production)

And oh, i felt so silly when i was saying like "I heard of Milos Forman, but i don't remember his most famous movies.... But i know he's really famous, do you remember what's his most famous movie?"
and then i looked up and it turned out he directed One Flew Over Cuckoo's Nest, Amadeus, and Goya's Ghosts that i loved very dearly.
hehehe.
i felt stupid.

but i loved "The Firemen's Ball" better.

Hoří, má panenko!!

The last days of autumn strangely reminded me of spring.
The sun was shining so gently in the blue tenderness of the sky, and the trees were completely bare, that i thought it looked more like the very beginning of spring (or end of winter) than like the last days of autumn falling inot winter, i thought that the pools were that of the last snow melted rather than the traces of November rain.
and i was smiling to myself, and to the Sun laughing into my eyes, and to the music in my headphones
and i cherished the taste of a new special offer ice cream dessert in my fave coffee shop
and i knew how great life is, and how i love this life the way it is, no matter what - for days like that.

Also, i'm very thankful to April182 from DeviantArt whose lovely autumn photographs in the first place made me remember that autumn is not only about fog, drizzle and sleet, but also about sunshine and beauty.

happy 110th to FC Barcelona and all its supporters. and many happy returns of the day.
just because i'll never forget that Maradona once wore the blaugrano jersey.

Today is a very special day.
Today Fabio Grosso turns 32.

Dear, dear Fabio, one of my first - and greatest - loves in football, one of those whose style of playing fascinated me so much that i began supporting azzurri, and a very, very special player for me.
I had been hoping for years that some day we will put on the black-and-white jersey, and when i thought that this idea was to forever remain a crazy dream of mine, he signed a contract with Juve, and it was one of the happiest days of my life.
I'm sure, dear Fabio, that Ju and You have a glorious destiny and i'm wishing you the grandest success in the world.
The best of luck tomorrow, it's always good to have some :)
Health and peace and happiness to you and you family, dear Fabio.

And just always be yourself. That makes you unbelievable.

NO, I DID NOT LIKE THE MOVIE 99 FRANCS.

You might say i was biased because it's based on one of my favorite books and so i was very critical watching it, while most people seem to like it.

I can't like the movie after having read the book.
It's a VERY GOOD movie for those who never read the book. The idea is great, and it all seems to be very well done, but when you know the book almost by heart, you are sure to find some of its most spectacular cenes missing.

Like, during that first meeting about the yoghurt ad, Octave's nose began to bleed *because of cocaine* and in the movie, you saw him walking out - but why the hell did they cut out the following scene of Octave being in their lavatory with blood spilling from his nose, and then he writes in his blood "PIGS" on the mirror in the lavatory, on the walls, on the door, and so on, and rushes out of the building - and the scandal that followed, why was it left out?
You think it was censored? Too much blood in a movie? It ain't a movies for kids anyway, and if you ask me, i would prefer to see this scene in the movie than several sex scenes that didn't carry any deep idea except for following the plot.

The worse thing was about Miami. In the movie, they we just idiots getting drunk, and then taking some unknown pills driving a car and getting so high they couldn't remember anything.
In the book, they got into some old lady's house, and though they killed her *not quite intentionally* they had a row with her, and they were defending their ideas and she was defending hers, and it gave you food for thought ("We saved your asses in 1944!! My husband died on D Day for the likes of you!" - "It was Coke-Cola that killed your husband!")
and you can accuse them of anything in the book but for being idealess, as there was rebellion in their words, while in the movie, there was no rebellion in Miami - just idiocy.

I liked the double-final however, because if the final was what you thought from the beginning it would be, it would made me condemn the movie of being sheer crap, but with the double final with Latin American paradise the movie overall got better, and such an unexpected turn was quite in Octave's character, i think.

Final verdict: if you haven't read the book, watch the movie and you'll like it. If you have read the book... you'll know the book's better anyway :)

p.s. you miht wonder why this entry is called 14.99 euros but actually that was the price of the book in euros while in francs it cost of course 99 francs. that's the equivalent price and it's sorta equivalent title.

Bordeaux - Juventus 2:0

FUCK
THE FRENCH.

somehow fotball doesn't bring me much joy on wednesdays these days.
dammit.
i won't talk any more about it or i'll go mad. really.

Rubin - Dynamo 0:0

Have you seen this SNOWFALL??? i wondered how the teams could actually see anything and keep playing. really.
I was rooting for the ruby red team of course, i would be really happy if they make it to the 1/8. They were quite good in the first half and Dominguez's bicycle kick at the very end of it just took my breath away. Throughout the whole first half the image of Dynamo was clear: when they were defending, the whole team was in defence (including Shevchenko) and when they were attacking, they were attacking acutely and in a good way, but al in all, i liked Rubin better. their game got worse in the second half after one of the central defenders Sharonov got injured, and the whole defence just slipped off and i was getting scared. i'll keep my fingers crossed for Rubin on december 9, though.

Barcelona - Inter 2:0

As the Russian champion and the Ukrainian champion ended up with a draw in the cold and snow-covered Kazan, i went on to watch the Spanish champion beat the Italian champion in the warmth of Catalan capital. *F is the champions-only group, by the way :)*
and i gues it was the first time i was cursing Inter for losing and it wasn't about my desire to see as many Italian clubs in the 1/8 as possible, it was because a draw as well as Inter's victory would have kept Rubin on the second place in the group. however, Inter always misunderstands me - when i want them to play better, they don't.
taking into account the absence of Barça's main attacking players, it's a shame for the nerazzurri. but i hope they'll keep playing like that in Serie A as well :)

CSKA - Wolfsburg 2:1

CSKA was the club that brought me the best emotions this round. i didn't watch the game but i'm happy they won and i hope they'll keep their success :)

Fiorentina - Lyon 1:0

Fiori de Toskana is the team i'm sending my warmest congratulations too. their leading position in their group makes me happy and proves the obvious *for me* fact that Italian footbal is the best in the world. i'll be hapy to see Fiorentina in the champions League as long as possible.

Unirea - Sevilla 1:0

OF COURSE i didn't watch the game, not did i take any interest in it, but it seems that the Romanian club wil make it to the 1/8 and that is interesting :) i have never seen them play, by the way, honestly :)

Arsenal - Standard 2:0

I knew from the very beginning they'll be top of the group, and every round just proved it. The same this time.

but i feel ashamed that i hadn't written this on Saturday and so, as usual,i decided that it's better late than never.

SOMEBODY KILL HIM, GET ALL THE NORWEGIAN REFEREES DISQUALIFIED FOR GOOD, FOR THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO JUDGE AND WHAT THE REFEREE IS FOR ON THE PITCH.

I UNDERSTAND VERY WELL THAT RUSSIANS WERE A BLEAK COPY OF THEMSELVES TODAY, AND THEY DIDN'T SHOW ALL THEIR BRILLIANCE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE GAME

BUT IT IS CLEAR THAT THE FINAL RESULT WAS OBTAINED DUE TO THE HELP OF A CERTAIN MAN IN YELLOW, HE OBVIOUSLY LOVES THE COLOR YELLOW, ESPECIALLY SHOWN TO RUSSIANS.
HE NEVER SEEMS TO NOTICE FOULS COMMITTED BY THE SLOVENIAN TEAM, OR IF HE DOES, HE NEVER CONSIDERS THEM WORTH A YELLOW CARD, WHILE ANY RUSSIAN IS ACCORDING TO THIS BASTARD WORTH THE YELLOW CARD JUST FOR STOPPING HIS OPPONENT, FOUL OR NO FOUL.

THE 3 MOMENTS I COULD HAVE SHOT THE REFEREE FOR:
1) KERZHAKOV'S RED CARD.
IF YOU DIDN'T SEE HIM HITTING THE BALL, NOT THE KEEPER, WIPE YOUR EYES AND LOOK AGAIN. HE WAS INNOCENT.
THE DIRTINESS WAS ADDED BY THE SLOVENIANS MAKING A SCANDAL OUT OF THE EPISODE, SHAVA BEING THE REAL CAP IN THIS SITUATION WHICH DAMN NEAR ENDED UP IN A FIGHT
2) ZHIRKOV'S SECOND YELLOW,
FOR WHAT??????
FOR TRYING TO GET THE BALL ON THE PITCH WHILE IT WASN'T GIVEN TO HIM?!
HEY, PEOPLE, THAT'S HIS RIGHT WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT.
NOW PLAYERS GET YELLOW CARDS FOR JUST STRUGGLING FOR THE TRUTH.
THE SITUATION WAS OBVIOUS, EVEN AKINFEEV CAME UP TO GET IT CLEAR BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP. THE TIME WAS DRAGGED, HOWEVER, AND NOT ADDED BACK.
3) THE BEHAVIOUR OF SLOVENIAN SUPPORTERS.
I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AGAINST SLOVENIA AS A COUNTRY, BUT I BELIEVE SUCH BEHAVIOUR IS MORE THAT INAPPROPRIATE.
SOME OBJECT WAS THROWN AT AKINFEEV, AND IT MUST HAVE BEEN SOMETHING REALLY CRAPPY BECAUSE EVEN THE DAMNED REF WALKED UP TO THE LINESMAN AND SHOWED HIM THE OBJECT, I DIDN'T SEE CLEARLY WHAT IT WAS AND I HOPE THERE'LL BE DETAILS IN THE NEWS.
AND I HATED THE ETERNAL WHISTLING. IT IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL.

MY DEAR, DEAR RUSSIANS. MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE I WANTED YOU TO BECOME THE 8TH TEAM TO WIN THE WORLD CUP.
KNOWING THE LAWS OF FIFA, UEFA AND THE LIKE NOWADAYS, THE PROBABILITY OF GETTING A GAME REPLAYED IS ALMOST THE SAME AS MEETING A DINOSAUR IN THE STREET, EVEN UNDER SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES.
BUT BELIEVE ME, I AM PROUD OF YOU BEING MY NATIONAL TEAM, EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T PLAY AS GOOD AS YOU CAN SOMETIMES, YOU STRUGGLE TILL THE END EVEN IF THERE ARE JUST 9 OF YOU LEFT.
AKINFEEV AND ZHIRKOV ARE THE MEN OF THE GAME, ZHIRKOV BEING DEFINITELY THE BEST ATTACKING PLAYER (AN ATTACKING DEFENDER - LIFE IS A HUGE PARADOX) AND IGOR MAKING A NUMBER OF BREATHTAKING SAVES, NEVER GETTING DOWN AND EVEN MAKING FREE-KICKS AT THE END OF THE GAME. YOU'RE HEROES.
I WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOU.
¡Hasta la victoria siempre!
Del Piero the champion :)
i decided to finally post about the Saturday Russia-Slovenia game.
i guess i just needed the time to make the things clear in my mind and not burden off everything that was on my mind that evening
because the very last minutes of the game and the damned goal conceded made me feel so terribly disappointed that i had forgotten all my great emotions from the game itself
i believe that except for the last 10minutes or something, the Russians were brilliant and showed an almost perfect game against a team like Slovenia.
the biggest pleasant surprise came from Bilyaletdinov, of course, for i wanted Shava to score the whole game as usual, and it was very unusual that both goals should be scored by a midfielder, and that the assists were made by both forwards))))
i am truly happy for the guy, and i remembered an interview with Diniyar i had read a couple of days before the game
he said that he wouldn't like to play as a defender (which is understandable, because he's a midfielder) and he said that although it is for Hiddink and not for him to decide, he'd prefer to play in the midfield as he is always more prone to attack than defend.
almost like a prediction :)

the thing that made me unhappy was Arshavin's yellow card, it was very silly. i hate the people who provoke him like that, because he can lose his temper, and i hope he won't in the future. but that moment darkened my happiness from the goal scored just minutes before.

the thing that made me very happy was the attack undertaken by Zhirkov at the very beginning of the game, when he got the ball in the middle of the field and manged to go past all the Slovenian defence and striked but the keeper saved, but if he hadn't, that would have been the most beautiful goal, and most beautiful attack i have seen recently. it was wow-like. and that was the moment when i remembered how great the Russians are really :)
i don't want to think about the bad things - i had had a premonition before the game again, butnow i only want to remember positive episodes.
keep your fingers crossed for Russia tomorrow like i will!!!!!!

"Rude Boys 2003"

Del Piero the champion :)
"You said California's dogshit?! Yeah, that's why we're here!!!!!"

That night when Green day performed in Torino, i suddenly knew what i should do.
I grabbed my "Rude Boys 2003: Green Day live in Spain" DVD that i bought in Magdeburg (along with Carmina Burana, in case you read the story)
and i enjoyed the evening as much as i should have.

It was THE YEAR BEFORE AMERICAN IDIOT.
At that time they still looked more like the "old school Green Day" of the 90s, and yet they performed in front of a couple of hundreds people the same tricks they rock hundreds of thousands of people at stadium arenas - jumping all over the stage, goofing around at "King For A Day" (no crown though), Billie Joe standing on one lag and playing the guitar holding it above his head, Billie Joe adressing the crowd: "I SAID: HEY HO!!!!!" - "HEEEY HOOO!"
all the loveliness and intimacy of thier concerts, only in a smaller scale, and that adds even more charm to it.
Especially the moment when Billie Joe got a guy from Cataluña on stage and taught him to play "Knowledge" on his legendary Blue. the happy happy guy :)
it was also lovely the way Billie communicated with the crowd, joking a lot like, saying "Okay, this time it's a new song" - and start playing a hit like Minority or Longview :)

in the end, of course, Tre dismantled the drum kit with Mike helping him out, and then BJ came into the middle of the debirs of the instruments to end the show they way it should end - playing Good Riddance:The Time of Your Life.

I bet everybody had the time of their lives there.

and oh yeah, in case you think Green Day have changed during these years you're quite wrong. They still like going mad in small clubs, even if that means performing about 5 hours a night. Don't you believe me?
then read this article, and really, this time the link has nothing to do with voting for Green Day :)

Green Day Tour Cities: TORINO!!

Del Piero the champion :)

Green day performed thier last concert of 2009 Europe Tour in Torino, and if i were to choose just one concert in this tour i would love to have gone to, it would most undoubtedly be this one.
The most heartbreaking circumstance is that PALAOLIMPICO WHERE GREEN DAY PERFORMED STANDS SIDE BY SIDE TO STADIO OLIMPICO, THERE, AT THE LOVELY CORSO SEBASTOPOLI
and my heart was bleeding, bleeding, bleeding at the very thought of it
*my two great loves so close to one another*

but it is sinister to whine on a day like this, so i'd rather tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE TORINO
you can rightly imagine that this love emerged from my love to Juve, that's true.
But Torino is also, strangely and mysteriously, the place where everything that i love can be found, cheek to cheek, smiling at me and attracting me like a magnet, or even like a drug.
Museo Egizio, Mueso Cinematografico, piazzas most beautiful in the world, Piazza San Carlo being the most wonderful of them (the only place in the world that can compete to Piazza San Carlo in its beauty is The Decemberists Square in Saint Petersburg), the mountains, the parks, the streets, the river Po...
i have also recently learnt that SOLID *NOT LIQUID* CHOCOLATE IN BARS WAS ALSO INVENTED IN TORINO IN XIX CENTURY. and you still doubt that everyhitng i love can be found there?!

Torino is the city i can be talking about for ages, eternally, honestly.
Enjoy the pictures
and yeah, of course i couldn't do without posting a picture of Stadio Olimpico here, you know :)
